For next report, change association members to north and east enders.
Questions: Nadine Stableforth asked if managed forest was still being deducted from back property taxes. Richard to look into.

6a. Boat issues raised:
o Don getting too much wake
o Cliff: swimmers are swimming on their own in the middle of the lake, unescorted. Please remind them to swim with boat escort
o Use lights on the boat at night, including fishermen
o Don’t ski at narrow end of west end. No tubing in this area.
o Wake: speed limits are hard to enforce, boats are getting heavier
o Boat hours
o Gas in lake
To do: association agreed to send out policy to members by email on boat safety, cottages, boating

7. Insurance
o Insurance taken out with FOCA to cover liability for injury and property damage. Rod encourages people to get their neighbours to join the Association to support the cost of insurance, events etc. Requested approval from members. Did not reach consensus. Instead, agreed that association to take action to look into insuring all roads, perhaps having subcommittee to manage each road.

8. Road report
o Doug Morgan and Dean Swinson worked on roads to fill pot holes. Work in progress. Wayne says south beaver dam culvert needs work and Doug noted. Info sign was wrecked beyond repair.
o West end: Rod gave report. Rains destroyed culvert so fixed. Sand boxes to be fixed for fall, and also reloaded with salt and sand.
o Wayne requests: small path between Anderson and Wayne is being wrecked by ATVs. No ATVs please.

9. Lake Events
a. Regatta: great time had by all at 1st annual
b. West end clearing party: Aug. 12 at 10 am
c. Fishing derby: last year 100 lb of fish = approx. 2-4000 fish, which was less than year previous. Rock bass are getting bigger and cross breading with small mouth bass. Generally fish are healthy.
2007 derby will be on Aug. 25/26. Request donations from members for prizes, and from association of $600 for prizes and trophies. Skip says OPP offering $500 for such derbies.
To do: Association to look into OPP program
d. Ski tournament: Aug. 18 10 am at Howe’s dock.
e. Clinic for boat drivers to be held in 2008. Date TBA for 2008. Also, goal to convert tubers to water-skiers to revive ski tradition on the lake.
f. Golf tournament: cancelled for 2007 because nobody volunteered to organize it.

10. Membership records: please review records at back of room to ensure correctness.
11. Water testing:
o Ann Morgan is checking water clarity. Still moderately at risk but it is being maintained.
o Dan Bertin has identified turd like brown algae, and many concurred.
o Wayne suggests Board to take over water testing, set up a budget and send out samples. Ann Morgan volunteered to do testing for board.
To do: 1. association to look into getting MNR to check members’ septic tanks since this may be source of algae. 2. Board to discuss budget for water testing

12. Winter Patrol Program: Doug Morgan reports that this winter one 4 wheeler was stolen, as well as one outboard in the south end. He confirmed there are large mouth bass in the lake. The lake is clear of invasive species but zebra mussels are in the lakes close by so during any boat transfers, leave boat out of Davis Lake waters for 5 days to ensure no contamination.
13. Donations in memory of Pat Restivo can be made to Dorothy McIntyre
14. New Business:
o 4 cottages have complaints about dogs running about. Call town of Minden with issues.
o Back enders will continue to have same directors

15. Meeting adjourned.
